Those who would like to include video in their course, as either a resource or assignment, will find many new options for the Fall of 2013. Faculty can now add a video assignment or resource via the “add an activity or resource” option within each week.
Last year we had several faculty members try out this new Moodle plugin. One use case was to use the video assignment for oral examinations in a Spanish class. Using the video assignment allows students to submit video as either a direct webcam capture or by uploading a digital file they create in iMovie, Movie Maker or any other video program. The videos stored in Moodle are protected and not accessible by other users. Faculty can then open the assignment and grade the videos within Moodle.
