THE RURAL PLUNGE is an annual Service-Learning trip sponsored by the Moreau Center over Fall Break, in which a group of students and staff go to rural Yakima Valley, WA to learn about the migrant farming community and the other surrounding social and environmental issues. The trip’s focus is on social justice- incorporating awareness, direct service, themes of Catholic Social Teaching, and most importantly daily reflections to mentally digest the surge of information and emotions. One sociology credit can be earned.
