Course Description

This course will provide an introduction to the field of computer game design. The philosophy, objectives and history of this field will be explored.    In addition, the course will emphasize practical applications of some of the more prevalent techniques. This course is taught in the spring of even numbered years.
(Prerequisite or corequisite: CS 304.)

Course Goals

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the computer game industry and its history.
  2. Apply practical game design using a contemporary game design library.
  3. Implement a complete, working computer game that operates in real time and contains 3D graphics, sound, effective art, animation.
